If you are attacked by a dog, no longer must you prove that the dog had dangerous propensities. In California, we have “Strict Liability” which means that if you are injured by a dog, the owner of the dog is liability. The attack or dog bite also does not have to occur on the owner’s premises. This can take place in a public location. If the owner of the dog is also a homeowner, the homeowner’s insurance should cover the injuriies.
